TO ASSEMBLE

Using PVC cement, glue the elbow to one end of the pipe and the adapter to the other.

Affix the stickers (see below for sticker info).

Drill two holes in the plug, for drainage. We use a 3/8 inch drill bit.

About an inch below the top fitting and an inch above the bottom fitting, avoiding stickers, drill 1 inch holes through the front of the tube.

Directly opposite those, drill 1/4 inch holes through the back of the tube.

Where to get the stickers:

BoatU.S. Foundation offers the set of four stickers at no charge. E-mail Susan at: sshingledecker@boatus.com.

Or, purchase a set of four stickers for $5.00 from Florida Fish and Wildlife. Phone: (561) 575-5408.

TO INSTALL

Bolt the bin to a wooden post or metal stake through the holes you drilled top and bottom.

Don't tighten the bolts too tightly or the tube will be pulled out of round and the bottom plug you remove to empty the bin will bind.

After bolting, test that the bottom cap comes off and goes back on easily.

Hold the bottom cap flat to thread it on correctly. It doesn't have to be threaded all the way on to be secure.

Add metal straps or zip ties or tie securely with cord top and bottom so the bin doesn't wag left or right.

Good job!
